ELECT KEN
PENDERGRAFT
REPUBLICAN
WYOMING SENATE DISTRICT 21
Hello friends and neighbors.
It is time for Wyoming residents to decide. Do we want to be subjects, dependent upon
government to provide for every aspect of our lives? Or shall we rein in an
ever-growing bureaucracy that continually gnaws away at our wealth, our liberty,
our rights and abilities to provide for ourselves and for our children for
generations? The more wealth the
state secures, the more powerful it becomes.
Are we to surrender and become submissive subjects, or shall
we remain independent, free citizens? The choice is ours, so far.
When I first started campaigning my message centered on the
idea that Government was too large and powerful, too intrusive, too inefficient
and too expensive. I pointed out that Wyoming
doesn’t have a revenue problem, it has a spending problem. I went to
Cheyenne, and after my first two-year term I had earned the respect of the next
generation of leadership in the house. I
was selected to be vice chair of Appropriations, acting as a liaison for the
Military Department, Wyoming Department of Transportation, University of
Wyoming, State Capital Construction, the entire Judiciary branch, and several other
agencies.
I worked hard to do exactly what I said I would do, and that
is to reduce government and the cost of the same. Government should do the things it is
required to do and do those things well, and nothing more. Government should
never become all things to all people.
For business, Government should provide an even playing
field with policies conducive to the free market and not involve itself in
picking winners and losers. Crony
Capitalism is not freedom; it’s manipulation and power.
After two terms in the House, I believe I am just hitting my
stride, learning to be effective in Cheyenne, understanding how to best serve
the freedom-loving folk that sent me there to represent them. I am eternally grateful for that
opportunity.
Within those first two terms, I was instrumental in securing
property tax relief for Wyoming. I continue
to work toward tax reform that will allow people to own their own homes outright,
and not “rent” perpetually from the tax gatherers. I fought hard at every
turn to guarantee our God-given right to self-defense, and to secure the right
to life for the unborn. I have
diligently studied to understand how the budget works, and how it can be made
more transparent. I have worked closely
with many others to further secure our election process, so that we all may
have absolute confidence that elections are free and fair. I have worked to
defend Wyoming against a tyrannical federal government and promote safety and
security for our children. I have worked to secure parental rights and
educational choice. All of these I will continue to support and defend.
That said, I have a
significant amount of unfinished business to attend to and am actively helping
newer legislators to be as effective as possible.
Therefore, I take this opportunity to announce my
campaign for the 69th legislature, as Senator for District 21 in
Western Sheridan County, my home, the place where I grew up and love
dearly. The place I returned to after
serving my country around the world.
As I pointed out at the beginning of this letter, we have a
choice to make. If you choose to defend
liberty and our beloved way of life, I ask for your support to continue the
work I’ve begun, and to help recruit and train others to do even more of
the same.
Again, it has truly been the honor of a lifetime to serve
Sheridan in this capacity. I have
done exactly what I said I would do and wish to do more before I’m finished. I humbly ask for your support. Those who believe that government has and should
have all the answers, power and money are already fundraising to defeat me, and
to take everything they can from you. Let’s
not allow that to happen.
Yours Respectfully,
Ken Pendergraft
